Yasmin was born in North London and from a young age showed a strong interest and flair for all things beauty, hair and makeup. In 2010, at the age of just 16 she was lucky to be able to do bridal makeup for some weddings in Italy whilst on her summer holidays.
In 2012 she moved to Manchester to pursue a career in Interior Design, studying for 2 years at Manchester Metropolitan University before realising that hair and makeup could actually be a full time career, and not just a hobby.
Having grown up around academics and feeling pressure to conform to society’s “norms” in a world before social media makeup artists, she had never really seen or heard much about the industry but decided to follow her instincts and train at Aqua Rosa the North West Media Makeup School.
Although she originally had a keen interest in working in the prosthetics sector of the industry, fascinated by the incredibly creative and artistic side of this, it was there that she discovered her love for the fast paced nature of the fashion and commercial side of the hair and makeup industry.
She spent several years networking and building up her reputation, and after a couple of years signed with multiple top fashion agencies in Manchester. But she never forgot her beginnings in working with brides and the feeling she got making them look and feel the best they ever have on the most important day of their lives.
After not being able to even pick up a brush for a good six months due to the Covid 19 pandemic, her diary started to fill up with weddings like crazy in 2021. So many people were having to postpone and so the demand was very high for skilled bridal hair and makeup artists.
Since then her bridal business has grown exponentially and she now has a growing team of freelancers working alongside her as part of her Yasmin Bridal team. She has had the opportunity to work on some incredible weddings all over the world in places like the Maldives, Provence, Tuscany, Athens, Rome and Lake Como.
She is very grateful for every bride that she has had the pleasure of spending time with and all the incredible suppliers she’s met on her journey to where she is today!
